Refund Policy
Last updated: October 14, 2026
We want you to be confident in your subscription. This policy explains when refunds are available and how to request one.
Free reports and paid subscriptions
Each account includes three free property reports in total (not per month), without a credit card. Paid subscriptions do not include a 14-day free trial: payment is due at checkout. Subscriptions renew automatically on the selected monthly or annual schedule until canceled. Annual plans are billed upfront as one yearly payment, not monthly installments.
Monthly subscriptions
Monthly subscription payments are not routinely refundable after payment, except where required by law. Canceling renewal stops future renewals and preserves access through the current paid period.
Annual subscriptions
Annual subscriptions are billed upfront. You may request a full refund within 14 calendar days of your first annual subscription payment, including your first switch from monthly to annual, whether or not you used paid features. Later plan changes, renewals, or restarting an annual subscription do not restart this window. Support processes approved refunds manually and separately ends access under the refunded subscription and stops its renewal. After that window, and for annual renewals, no routine refund is offered except where required by law. Canceling annual renewal without a refund preserves access through the current paid period.
Permit submission service
Permit Pathfinder is a research and permit-preparation service. Concierge filing is not included automatically in Discover or Investor. Filing is offered only for projects we explicitly accept after confirming the jurisdiction, project type, scope, separate service price, and estimated timing in writing with you. Government fees and required architectural, engineering, survey, or other professional services are separate.
For a separately accepted concierge service, the service fee is fully refundable before work begins. Once work begins, the unearned portion is refundable according to the priced milestones disclosed and agreed before purchase. A queued request or status label alone does not establish work performed or an earned fee. Government and third-party charges are subject to the recipient's refund rules and applicable law. Request a refund through support; cancellation does not create an automatic refund or future-service credit.
First-Approval Assurance
First-Approval Assurance is not offered for new purchases. Passing automated checks, including zero blockers and zero warnings, means ready for further review, not assurance eligibility or guaranteed completeness, compliance, filing, or approval. Specific assurance commitments already made to earlier customers remain honored under their original terms.
How to request a refund
To request a refund, email contact@permitpathfinder.com with your account email, the payment date, and the purchase you want refunded. An initial annual refund does not require a reason or proof that paid features were unused. Requests are reviewed manually; response times vary. Canceling renewal in the billing portal is separate from requesting a refund. Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method; posting times depend on the payment provider and your bank.
Manual refund processing checklist
Refund requests, payment refunds, subscription cancellation, and concierge request statuses are separate actions. This checklist describes the steps support must complete; it does not automate them.
- Verify the purchase and applicable terms. Match the account, original payment, amount, and subscription or service. Check the request date against the first annual payment, including a first monthly-to-annual switch. Honor earlier commitments and legal rights. Do not require a reason or non-use for an eligible initial annual refund.
- Confirm the refundable amount. An eligible initial annual refund covers the full original annual payment. For concierge services, refund the full service fee before work begins, or the unearned portion based on documented work and the priced milestones agreed before purchase. Review billing errors and non-delivery separately. Check for prior refunds or disputes to avoid duplicate reimbursement.
- Process and verify the payment refund. Refund to the original payment method through the payment provider. Record the amount, refund reference, date, and provider status. A request, approval, or cancellation alone is not a completed payment refund; confirm success and follow up on pending or failed refunds.
- Handle access and renewal separately. For an approved initial annual refund, cancel the refunded subscription immediately, not just at period end, and verify that its renewal has stopped and its paid access has ended in the app. Do not cancel unrelated subscriptions or remove access earned by a separate purchase. A concierge refund or billing correction does not automatically cancel a research subscription.
- Confirm the outcome with the customer. Keep the decision and supporting records, and send the refund amount and status, any subscription or service changes, and confirmation of renewal and access changes where applicable. Bank posting times vary. Do not describe processing as complete while a required step remains unresolved.
Billing errors and service non-delivery
Contact support about duplicate or incorrect charges or service non-delivery. Reported billing errors and service non-delivery are reviewed, and confirmed errors are corrected; routine no-refund terms do not override these cases or your statutory rights.
Chargebacks
You may contact support to ask about a charge or request a refund. Contacting support is not a prerequisite to exercising your lawful payment-dispute rights, and this policy does not waive or restrict those rights.
Earlier purchases
Effective October 12, 2026 for new purchases made after this policy update is published. They do not retroactively reduce specific trial, refund, assurance, or service commitments made for earlier purchases, or limit rights under applicable law. Contact support about the terms or promises that applied when you purchased.
Legal rights
Nothing in this policy limits any statutory consumer rights you may have under applicable Washington State or federal law. If you are entitled to a refund by law, this policy does not override that right.
