SEPA Environmental Review
State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) review identifies and evaluates environmental impacts of proposed government actions, including private developments needing approval.
Standard Operating Procedure
- 1Step 1
Determine the lead agency responsible for SEPA review for your project.
- 2Step 2
Complete the SEPA environmental checklist and submit it to the lead agency with supporting documentation.
- 3Step 3
The lead agency reviews the checklist, may request additional information, and issues a Threshold Determination (DNS, MDNS, or EIS).
- 4Step 4
A 14-day public comment period follows a Determination of Nonsignificance; an Environmental Impact Statement requires extended review.
- 5Step 5
Once the determination is final, it can be used to inform all underlying permit decisions for the project.
